Directions

Step 1: Gather all of your ingredients and a large mixing bowl.

Step 2: Mix all of the dry ingredients — flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, flaxseed powder, and cinnamon — in the large bowl.

Step 3: Add all of the wet ingredients — oat milk, oil or melted butter, vanilla extract, and applesauce or mashed banana (if using) — into the bowl with the dry ingredients.

Step 4: Mix the batter with a whisk until the ingredients are combined and most of the lumps are gone. Do not overmix.

Step 5: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.

OPTIONAL Step 6: Add chocolate chips or sprinkles if desired and gently mix them into the batter.

Step 7: Pour the batter into the donut pan, filling each donut cavity about 3/4 full.

Step 8: Bake the donuts for about 12–15 minutes, or until they are golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Step 9: Let the donuts cool for a few minutes, then remove them from the pan.

Step 10: Add any desired toppings, such as glaze, powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or chocolate drizzle, and enjoy!
